ODL SAF Project Proposal documents the project proposal. The project is contemplating changing the name to be a slight variation of the original proposed name OpenDaylight Service Automation Framework - to avoid confusions with another open source project called Open SAF (Service Availability Forum - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenSAF). One possibility may be SAA - Service Automation Architecture.
